A digital front door for a rural school with ambition

Dent CE Primary is a small rural school with a big vision - joyful, inclusive, and equipped to succeed and serve. They needed a website that felt as vibrant and distinctive as the school itself, while also meeting the tight statutory requirements expected from Ofsted and SIAMS.

The brief was clear: create a site that showcases the school’s warmth, ambition, and connection to the natural Cumbrian landscape - without losing clarity or functionality.

• Integration of a custom style guide, including a bespoke colour palette inspired by local stone, woodland, sky, and wildflowers.

• Structured layout to handle both statutory content (policies, governance, reports) and emotive storytelling (photography, curriculum highlights, and school life).

• Clear information architecture for prospective families, current parents, inspectors, and the wider community.

• Built-in CMS allowing the school to keep the site up to date with ease.

This project was all about balance - professional and compliant, but warm and welcoming. A clean, modern site with the character to reflect its rural roots and the polish to stand proudly alongside larger schools.
